FOUNDER
CIVIL ENGINEER AND SENIOR ESTIMATOR
CR2 was founded by Carlos Rodriguez who's been working in the construction industry for over 30 years. After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering Class of 1992, Carlos moved to Orlando, Florida where he began his professional career performing geotechnical and environmental assessments.
After several years in the environmental field, Carlos’ career took a turn into road construction where he worked as a Project Engineer building roads and bridges.
Carlos assisted with the management of land surveying crews, the procurement of materials for the projects, managed the labor force and the company’s project payroll. His career then routed to Building Construction where he acquired vast knowledge in vertical construction.
He was involved in the construction of commercial buildings, schools, and technology processing plants. As a Project Engineer / Project Manager he was introduced to the estimating aspect of the projects where he found a passion for this type of work.
VALENTIN MELLSTROM
MANAGING PARTNER
CREATIVE DIRECTOR & ESTIMATOR
Born and design schooled in the landscapes of Sweden, he began his career as a signage and print production specialist and later moved into branding and creative event production, serving clients such as United Nations, Swedish Police Force and Frost Science Museum to mention a few higher profile clients.
Valentin also worked with event coordination and show production for Canadian/Swedish Sports Talent Group Lank Football, together with Portuguese team and organization S.C Braga where he designed, branded and organized international elite youth team tournament called Bracara Cup.
He later moved to Orlando, Florida where he began working within the major theme park landscapes and began specializing in estimation and sourcing themed fabrication and hospitality products and services.
He has worked on both small and larger scale construction projects annually totaling in the billions for parks like Disney World, Universal Studio, Paramount Studios and many more international brands and projects.
With a keen eye for detail and a knack for understanding and turning concepts into reality, Valentin seamlessly transitioned into the role of an estimator, mastering the art of assessing project scope and resource requirements.
Despite the shift in focus, he never lost touch with his true love – design. His unique ability to balance creative flair with practicality made him a standout in the industry.
Nila Rodriguez
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & PROJECT COORDINATOR
Nila has a Business Administration & Marketing Degree from the University of Florida and an Interior Design Accreditation from Seminole State College. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, Florida she has established her professional career in the Central Florida area since 2005.
Nila managed profitable stores, luxury brands and their marketing strategies for many years. She was a frequently awarded top sales volume producer with very exclusive companies, creating outstanding visuals, maximizing retail space to capture sales, and converting traffic into loyal clients with personalized service.
After a successful career in retail, Nila's career shifted to residential home building as part of the design consultant team. Helping clients accomplish their vision for their new homes gave Nila extensive knowledge with finishes and established relations with local and international vendors to ultimately deliver dream home designs. Nila also became a licensed Realtor and has been building a great status in the real estate market .
Currently Nila is CR2's Administrative Assistant and Project Coordinator and enjoys being part of an excellent group of professionals in the construction industry.
